About me

Picture

Hello and congrats on your new little one!

My name is Julia Davidson. I am a mom to five kiddos and wouldn't have it any other way! Each of their unique birth stories has deepened my love for midwifery and caring for growing families.

Growing up, I never imagined being a homebirth midwife, and yet now there's no other calling I could imagine!
After graduating from college with a degree in social work, my husband and I spent three years teaching ESL and doing missions work in Beijing, China, where our first son was born.
Although we were grateful for that experience, it also showed us how important compassionate support during pregnancy and birth truly is. After our time in Beijing, we moved to Minnesota.

After returning to the United States, we welcomed two more sons in Minnesota with the support of midwives and doulas. Through those births, I experienced the personalized, compassionate care of the midwifery model. Inspired by those experiences, I became a certified DONA doula in 2017. Since then, I've had the privilege of supporting more than 300 births in a variety of settings, and in 2018, I completed my childbirth educator training through Lamaze International.

My fourth baby was born in the comfort of my home. This is when I fell in love with the midwifery model of care. Prenatal appointments were holistic in nature. I was able to see the skill and knowledge of my home birth midwives. I witnessed the skill, knowledge, and preparedness of home birth midwives as they supported normal physiologic birth while remaining ready to respond if complications arose.

I began my student midwifery journey in 2022 through the Midwives College of Utah. I studied under the supervision of Morning Glory Childbirth Services. I will be providing home birth midwifery services to the CSRA and surrounding areas starting in the fall of 2026.

I am currently in my primary phase of student midwifery. This allows me to take midwifery clients under the supervision of my preceptor. Please reach out if this is something you are interested in pursuing.

My desire is for families to have access to safe, individualized, evidence-based care. Mothers should know they have options and that their voice matters. I want to equip partners to support their loved ones well.

It is truly a joy and privilege to continue walking alongside families throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Interested in a consult to see if we might be a good fit? Head over to my contact page, and we can set up a time!
